Heath Spotted Orchid ( Dactylorhiza maculata )

At least I think that is what it is.  It is a wild Orchid that just appeared in one of the patio pots a few years ago.  Now we have orchids popping up in many of the pots on the orchid.

Heath Spotted seem to be able to survive in a variety of climates.  Its range is given as from Portugal to Iceland ,east to Russia, they are also found in Algeria, Morocco and western Siberia.  The sc8ientific name translates from Greek (which is why scientific names should not be called latin names as they aren't always latin) into "finger root" a reference to the tubers that have projecting "tubercules".

As always if anybody knows my identification is wrong please do enlighten me.
