Sharpshooter
I think this is kind of a funny name for a very tiny insect. I will have to see if I can find out why the name was arrived at as surely there is a reason since there are quite a few "sharpshooter" species. This particular one is a Broad-headed sharpshooter and the colors suggest that it is an adult in prime breeding condition. Apparently younger specimens, or older ones, are much duller and lack the vibrant orange and blue hues this one shows. I think it's very handsome creature actually. And it doesn't bite or sting. It does eat plants, however. Oh well.
Nice FT chat with my parents this morning. And the rest of my day was spent almost entirely on editing and culling my photos from The weekend. I think I have the phots whittled down to a manageable number, ensuring that each dog owner gets images of their dog/s in the various trials. My plan is to finish tomorrow and get the images uploaded (hopefully). I think it is supposed to rain tomorrow so working indoors is fine.
