The Birthday Boy

He turned 80 today even though last Tuesday we celebrated with our friends.
A Facetime with Lexi and her Dad very early as they were driving to choir practise at school, 7.30am Townsville time singing happy birthday and a phone call from Janelle, various texts from other during the day, and even a poem !
I then went and did my grocery shopping....that done, home for a coffee before deciding we would head inland namely Fairlie 35 minutes drive from here for lunch.  However, once there (because we had had a late morning tea) we were not hungry so carried on inland.  
A winter wonderland awaited, deep snow everywhere.  I had my camera with me (of course), but with the recent heavy dump of snow, the snow plowing had made a windrow of snow up to a metre high in some places making it impossible and dangerous to stop.   An inversion lay of cloud/fog also made it difficult driving but I rather liked the moody feel to the landscapes.....
