Low tide at St Andrews East Sands

A beautiful, warm sunny day. Some shopping for home required and more importantly petrol so Fouter and I headed to St Andrews.

We took the coastal route and had this rather splendid view of the East Sands and St Rule's Tower which was built in the 11th century and pre dates the cathedral. I have climbed the 168 steps up a narrow spiral staircase once but I doubt that I could ever do it again. The problems arise when you are on the way up and someone else is on the way down. The view from the top was stunning.
