Grammar School
I had an appointment with the Dental Hygienist this morning. I saw H again as the one I saw before her has left and the new girl phoned in sick on two of my last appointments?? So I’ve gone back to H. As my treatment progressed I remembered from previous treatments that she was a bit rough so although she has, no doubt, done a very thorough job on my teeth, I have a rather sore mouth. As we pay monthly I didn’t have to get my wallet out, so that was a bonus.
After that I took a spin round one of our town’s lovely churchyards. St. Mary’s CofE. The church is lovely too and walking round the back of the church you can see The Old Grammar School and St Mary’s Hall, both of which are now residential properties. *The plaque on St. Mary’s Hall reads: ‘This is the original St. Mary’s Hall in which Sir Rowland Hill, K.T. The first Protestant Lord Mayor of London founded the Grammar School in 1555. Robert Clive 1st Lord Clive, the founder of the Indian Empire was a pupil here’. Not sure we should be too proud of our town’s famous man …..???
Home for lunch and as it has been a lovely day with some sunshine again I was back in the garden for most of the afternoon. Pulled myself away to cook a large spag bol. Some for tomorrow’s supper when we get back from the cinema having seen ‘The Salt Path’. Will report tomorrow.
Extras: The plaque and Fairies at the bottom of the Churchyard garden.
