London Day 1
So, we dropped Archie off at his holiday home this morning. He had more luggage than us! Well, he took his bed as well.
The Uber was going the wrong way - I’d accidentally ordered it for Haymarket Station instead of Waverley Station. Not to worry, we had time, and had a lovely tour round town to get to the correct place.
Straight away, I spotted our train: Kings Cross, 9.24, Platform 4. We rushed there, tried to get on, but couldn’t find our carriage… wrong train! Ours was at 9.30. Who knew that trains left for London every few minutes?
An uneventful four hour journey and we arrived in a sunny London. The hotel was nearby, but when we went to check in, we were told we were at the wrong hotel!! Fortunately, the correct hotel was ‘only a five minute walk away…’
Checked in, then out for a wander - straight for the obligatory photo of the flash car outside the St Pancras Hotel. Got the Oyster Cards topped up, and had a wander round the new shopping centre Coal Drops Yard. Well, I had a beer in the sun, while JR had a look around.
Back at the hotel, with a Prêt salad for tea. Also, Prêt Bircher muesli for breakfast.
Archie has had a wonderful day with Dougal and his mum. There was even a video of him running around chasing Dougal!
