Planting
There have been garden related jobs today. We took a trip to the garden centre for me to buy a nice houseplant for my recorder tutor who moved house a while ago but has spent some months sorting the new house. Tony needed compost and a new spade after breaking his one of many years, digging out a large rock from the seedbed he is working on in my blip. Whilst at the garden centre I showed the manager the squirrel culprit from yesterday. I wasn't complaining, just pointing out that the feeder wasn't as squirrel proof as it claimed. He very kindly gave me a tub of fat balls which couldn't be sold due to a damaged box. I also sent an e-mail to the manufacturer with a video of the squirrel and received a very quick reply with much useful advice. He also told me that he had just acquired several feeders from a new company and would send me one if I promised to review it. I'm more than happy to comply!
Back home we brought the hanging baskets and jardiniere down from the greenhouse. I planted some wild carrot plants in the mini meadow and Tony potted up dahlias.
We spent a short time in the Drying Ground as Tony wanted to sow some wildflower seed in the new seed bed which now houses the large rock he and young Albie dug out. He also planted some wildflowers we picked up at the garden centre.
I can highly recommend the film 'The Salt Path'. It was faithful to the book and Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs were just right for Raynor and Moth.
