Heart of Stone

Mojave Desert National Preserve. Our rewards are many when we leave the paved roads and hit the back trails for a bit. (see extras). Wonderful boulders to climb over, under, and all around.

But you can also get burned , almost literally...it is 110 F/ 43.3 C where we stopped for the night.  Good grief!!  How do people live here year long?
