A day in the office, a night on the tracks…

Up to the office for a development meeting.  In a small office when the meeting room is out of action because someone is mending the zoom screen then office meetings on line with the Dublin office becomes a bit of a squish.

I popped out at lunch and had eyebrows done and then met up with Amit who had a meeting in with the BBC.  He was quite buoyed up by it when we met.  He went off happy.

Walked down to the Duke of Yorks to see Stereophonic, a LONG docustyle play about a fictional rock band (Fleetwood Mac really) putting together an album (allegedly Rumours) in rancorous gruelling circumstances.  Our friend David’s son Daniel directed it and it won several Tony’s and was a huge US success.  I think people will be a bit more suspicious here.  But largely, once I’d got my ear in i enjoyed it!  I was glad David gave us his tickets in the House Seats row as i think it’d be more difficult further back.

Then the fun began, we hopped gratefully onto 11pm train but there was a track incursion with emergency services in attendance which causes MAXIMUM chaos so all passengers were racing between platforms trying to find a train that might get them anywhere near where they wanted to go.  But as the crisis was at Surbiton that ruled out most exits.  We finally got on a train to Alton and although we crawled on congested tracks with other rerouted trains through various stations we eventually speeded up and hurtled into Alton at 1.30am.  I’d managed to pre-book a taxi to meet us through Uber and that worked very successfully even though we were late in.  He waited and then whizzed (boy-racer) us back to Petersfield to pick up our car.

Bed at 2.45am!  Not good…
