Moon jar
Our favourite garden centre is closing down. Today and tomorrow it has a super-duper sale for loyalty card members (like us). So we went along first thing this morning and met the traffic jam a mile before we got to the centre. There were cars parking on the verges half a mile away, and the entrance was manic with people trolleying their bargains down the lane.
We drove straight past to a lovely new cafe that has opened in West Wycombe. It's in a walled garden, probably West Wycombe estate's old vegetable garden. The outhouses were artists studios and it turns out that this week is Bucks Art Week and the studios were all open. We wandered into a potter's studio and came out with this lovely moon jar. We were in Japan and South Korea a year ago and saw many moon jars there and have wanted one ever since. It's sitting on the table while we contemplate it and decide where it will go.
This afternoon we finished assembling a load of old stumps for our stumpery (thanks aliscotia!). Over the next few days we will plant it up and no doubt it will feature in a future blip. So, a lovely day, despite the poor start.
