Glasgow

We got the Ember bus from Broxden to Glasgow at 9:20. Good journey in to Glasgow.

We were going to two photography exhibitions but first we walked to London Road towards the East End to Outlier for coffee and scrambled egg, bacon and toast. It was very good. Walked past the Barrowlands which made me think of Bible John from the 60s.

First we went to Street Level Photoworks to see an exhibition. Last time we were there was 2020 in the Covid times to see the excellent Oscar Marzaroli collection . The lady behind the desk was very chatty and we told her how much we enjoyed it and also last time there and she asked if she wanted an (old) calendar that had a 12 of the classic Marzaroli black and white prints. Yes!

Next was to the Glasgow Gallery of Photography to see their gallery. Good but not as good as Streetworks. Plus the guy there was NOT chatty at all ! In fact he was a grump!

It was boiling in Glasgow- so before getting the bus back we stopped in Tinderbox for a frappe and a cake. Then on to the bus station.

We were getting the Flix bus back at 15:15 but there was a big row between the Flix bus driver and the trainer on the bus next to it which was the Ember bus. As I was waiting till the last minUte before going on my bus I saw what happened . The trainer from Ember was smoking and the driver from Flix told him to stop smoking. Ember got mad and walked past Flix and shoved him. Flix didn’t react (I think I would have pushed him back) but he called security then Ember got his camera out and stood in front of Flix filming him . As it was time to go I walked up and said please don’t film me as I was showing Flix my ticket, and he said it’s ok I’m filming him not you (who was next to me). Then It escalated and the police were called and Flix made an announcement saying they wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon. I heard him tell someone that Ember had deleted the video when security asked to see it. Not sure what he videoed as Flix was just standing doing nothing for most of the filming. Weird.

We decided to swap buses due to unknown leaving time so got off and went on the Stagecoach bus Glasgow to Broxden no stops which was one of the most comfortable seats I’ve sat in in a bus! When we left Buchanan bus station the police were there taking notes….

S had to get back as he had a committee meeting with the curling or we may have stayed waiting till we went.

Wee bit gardening when home and a walk and settling down now for the final of Race across the World.
The young couple from Wales or the brothers - both of them I like.
