Dolly's Day

DOCK LEAF

First of all I must say thank you to everyone who visited my14 year blip anniversary entry yesterday.   I really enjoyed reading all the lovely comments.

Made a slow start to the day.  Did a load of washing and fed the birds.  Potted some lavender plants which had arrived in the post.

Later on I walked down to the Health Centre - I had a 4pm appointment with the nurse so she could check on my leg ulcer and change the dressing.  ( I didn't have an appointment last week but Ive changed the dressing a few times myself ) The ulcer isn't getting any worse -- but it isn't getting any better either.  And its very painful.  Mostly just a constant pain that's there all the time but every so often there are shooting pains like electric shocks.  Its nerve pain... and its not nice at all. I think the pain is going to be the norm now until the ulcer clears up. The nurse has referred me to the "Complex Wound Clinic " at Blaydon Primary Care Centre. This is routine when an ulcer has been ongoing for more than a few weeks.  She's made four weekly appointments at the Clinic on Tuesdays starting next week.  Today she asked one of the GPs to look at the ulcer in case its infected.  The doctor said it wasn't so thats a relief.

I came straight home after my appointment as I didn't need any shopping.  I walked through the allotments looking out for a Wide Wednesday shot.  The theme today is 'soft organic from nature '.  Decided to blip a large dock leaf ( Rumex obtusifolius) . Thanks to steveng for hosting.

See Extra for a photo of some Barley ( I think ) which I almost used as my blip shot )

The weather today was lovely - warm and sunny.

Steps today - 4,908
