Grumpy Old Man

Plant life and bird life

A rather dull day, but quite warm. Did a bit of gardening this morning, though still of the potted variety. Sore joints are making it hard to scramble about on my steep bank. Every spring I notice more Spotted Orchids coming up in various pots - they must have come from Arduaine, I think, and seed keeps on germinating. I separated a few out and potted them, but there's more to come. I'll probably give them to my daughter for her wildflower meadow on Mull.

After lunch I drove down to the Corran Halls to give the KOB bed a good watering - my Blip today. Pleased to see that my three Primula vialii haven't been nicked yet! I went on to Poppies Garden Centre to buy some garden twine and treated myself to a nice Fuchsia 'Tom Thumb while I was at it!  An oyster catcher was shrieking on the beach - maybe he has a nest somewhere nearby; my extra today.

Back home to sit outside for a while - not sunny, but pleasantly warm.
