Day five, journeys end Pegomas
No motorways, a fast road to start with then up and down Alps.
A lot of the trip was on the Route Napoleon, the path taken from his exile in Elba to Paris. The road is much better now I guess but it still climbs and decends many meters, hard work if you are carrying all your needs to go to war. When you consider the whole adventure lasted only 100 days, including the battle of Waterloo, these guys must have been moving over the mountains at quite a rate.
The blip is from one of the bedroom windows this morning. With the shutters closed the room was very dark, no idea what time it was Opening the shutters was blinding.
Last night Noel picked some cherries from her tree washed them and passed them to us. That is what you call fresh. This morning more cherries were in the fruit salad which, together with homemade made jams, home made yogurt and various breads was breakfast. Great start to the day.
Tonight we are going to eat in the onsite restaurant and then I plan to sleep the sleep of someone who has done a lot of driving over the last five days
