Mimulus guttatus

It's been a very mixed weather day and knowing it would be I had a quick trot round the reserve early on before the rain started in order to get a shot of one of the Monkey Flowers that have now started showing themselves, along the edge of the waterways.  So here is the chosen one.  I never realised they're related to foxgloves and snapdragons, but I suppose that makes sense.  The individual flowers are a similar size and have the same long throat.

The rest of the day's been the usual mix of food shopping, cleaning and looking after Duke.  And I've spoken to both my sisters to arrange our get-together over their birthdays at the end of this month.
