Ringlet

Well, you can see where I've been today - though truthfully, there are other places round here where you can see butterflies, they don't just stay on the reserve!  Anyway, I had a lovely afternoon and saw various butterflies I've not seen yet this year - colourful ones too, not just brown ones like this female(?) ringlet.  I think I may spend half the summer up there.

There were also a variety of different moths showing themselves.  I'm getting increasingly interested in them.  Some of the day-fliers are very beautiful and highly coloured.  And of course the orchids are out..
