An ordinary life....

It's behind you!!!

Thankfully not!  ;-))

Well, there was a bit of a hiccup with the Tesco delivery this morning and for once it WAS NOT my fault!  :-)

For a start we slept in.  Woke up at 8.15am.  Tesco delivery slot is 8am-9am and it usually arrives just before 9am, so no major panic.  D headed downstairs to wait and I checked the on-line receipt to see if there were any silly substitutions to be returned, but when I clicked on the email the message read "sorry there's been a payment issue with your grocery order due today but you have time to resolve it.  Just follow these steps by 8am..."

WHAT?!

Much confusion as I knew there was money in the account but since it was after 8am and I couldn't follow the steps suggested, my delivery was oot the windae! (ie not coming, to the non-Scots amongst us :-).

There was an option to convert the order to Click and Collect so I arranged to do so between 12pm & 1pm.   Went through the online checkout again and got the same problem with payment message.  We tried D's bank card and got the same message.  Tried the credit card and got the same message.  WTAF?!

Whilst I panicked and ranted that we'd been hacked, convinced all our money was now in some Nigerian Prince's bank account, D calmly phoned the Tesco helpline and spoke to a very lovely lady in Perth.  She was able to tell him that all RBS and Nat West customers were having the same problem and there seemed to be a clearing issue with the Bank, but to keep on refreshing the confirm payment and it would eventually go through.  After half an hour of refreshing the page, payment did indeed go through.  Phew!

So an unscheduled trip to Perth to collect the order was required so that's the fourth day (and 8th time!) this week the back road has had our car trundle along it to avoid the roadworks on the A9 at Broxden!

After lunch we headed to the Gin Palace to plan our itinerary for our trip to Northumberland.  Managed to compile a list of interesting possibilities before D engaged snooze mode.  Well it is very relaxing in there with the dappled shade and the birds singing :-)  I will look more closely at the list later and whip it into shape.

Making carbonara pasta bake for dinner (basically carbonara put into an oven dish then topped with grated parmesan, gruyere and panko breadcrumbs and put under the grill for a few minutes.  yum :-)

So happy that the lovely weather has returned and seems to be here to stay for a few days at least :-))
