A late breakfast, eggs on toast for a change, and then I went for a local walk but slightly longer than normal. About three quarters of the way two cyclists passed me, "that looks like serious cycling", I said.... they're on their way to Scotland and I wished them well.
The photo - I love the colours in this field. It's one that hasn't done well over the five years I've been walking it, and it looked as though there'd been a half-hearted attempt at ploughing part of it. We shall see.
Shortly afterwards I had quite a conversation with a 90 year old woman doing her gardening. She'd lost her husband fairly recently after nursing him for a while, she'd had bowel cancer and has a "bum on a tum", she was hard of hearing because she didn't wear her hearing aids in the garden... and why would you! She said she's seen me pass by sometimes, so I was pleased I'd struck up a conversation with her. It looks like a four bedroom house, and I expect the garden matches, so I hope she has family, but her attitude was great - to just get on with it.
Knit and Natter was good, I'm getting used to the people who go, and I gained a bit of wool. I've decided not to join club members at The Climbing Unit this evening, my back is having a couple of not so good days.
