Paul planting the Discovery Apple Tree.
The Feast Daybof Saint Anthony of Padua.
Born 15th August 1195. Died 14th June 1231. Patron saint of animals, fishermen, horses, lost objects, the poor, Portugal, the Philippines, Lisbon, Padua.
It has been 23c indoors and very close.
Rain is forecast for this evening.
I have been busy in the garden doing watering and weeding.
I have been out to the shops for our Daily Mail and Accrington Observer and a chat with the shop owner.
Later I went out to buy a EuroMillions ticket.
We drove to The Range for cat food because it is better value there and they sell Harringtons cat sachets and Tesco don't.
Paul dug a deep hole in the lawn and planted the Discovery Apple tree which has grown out of it's big grey flowerpot. I helped clean up the extra compost and I arranged pebbles around the base of the tree to deter cats. Hope it works. It looks stable and we anchored the trunk with a strong green metal rod from Stonehill Garden Centre.
I received a delivery of a Painted leaves plant from Gardener's Dream. It's posh name is Houttuynia, Chameleon. My Mum had one in her garden. The leaves are red, yellow and green.
Now I am relaxing with Paul and Holly and watching Escape to the Country in Norfolk.
No visits from Jasper today but there was a sweet friendly Tabby cat called Jasmine at the Garden Centre.
I hope you enjoy your Friday.
Thank you for dropping by blip friends.
