Curious Cats

Our friends, Dan and Mireille, have replaced all their doors and windows, and donated their old front door to us, which I really loved - a double door, with windows in both sides, and shutters behind each opening. 

Sadly, the door is much wider and taller than our opening. After a lot of thought and discussion, decided just wasn't worth the hassle to make it fit, so came up with the idea of cutting a hole in the door we have, and fitting one of the windows in it - still a lot of work, but Mike managed to get it done today, and solves my main gripe about our door, which was that it had no way to look out. Now it just needs a grating against cats (or humans), so it can be left open at night, giving our middle room a through breeze.

Gratefuls:
- a cool, windy evening
- getting our monthly Update done; it was a struggle
- a long catch up with our son this morning
- sleeping in sun dried bedding and pillows; took the electric blanket off and turned the mattress as well
