One Last Look

I decided today to take some "before" photos of my back yard seeing as how there will be many changes made out there tomorrow when the gardeners come to try to tame it. I must admit ...I am a bit nervous about what the "after" shots will look like...

I rather like a bit of chaos and am quite attached to what is growing out there. I hope these gardeners in their zeal to bring order to my chaos don't take the adventurous spirit out of all those feisty plants that I have adopted over the years.

Those plants and tough little shrubs have fought hard to survive and be the plants they want to be...strong, independent and free to roam! They may be getting old and not as beautiful as they once were, but they have earned their place. I don't think they will appreciate being moved to a more "suitable" place after having fought for the spot where they have lived for so long and in which they have  thrived!  I kind of know how they feel...heh heh...

Overall, it has been quite a relaxed day except for war breaking out in the Middle East ...Geez.. What next? And the military brought in to LA?. it just doesn't end!

It was cleaner day so I turned off CNN (!) and found a quiet spot out of Sherri's way to spend some time trying to get caught up reading blip journals and doing a little packing for the cottage....I had trouble picking which of my two new library books to pack (extra) but decided, as usual to not decide. I am packing both!  And I am supposed to be cutting back on what I take as I should not be lugging things around yet...but cottaging means lugging to and from the car and then to and from the boat and then up to the cottage...all of which was not in the shoulder-recovery plan!

PS: I am still  enjoying a pain-free shoulder and am thinking that the pills are helping all my other aches and pains too...hmmm..
