Benmore visit
Today my friend Tim and I had planned to visit Benmore, the Argyll outstation of Edinburgh Botanics, as a visit had been planned by the BPS, aka the Fern Club, to see the garden and in particularly the fernery.
Unfortunately last night, our leader, having seen the forecast for thunder and heavy rain, decided to postpone the visit. Tim had driven down from Skye just for the outing so we decided to go anyway!
It's almost two hours drive, but we got there as light rain began to fall, but though we got a touch wet in the first half hour we spent an hour in the famous restored fernery - today's extra - and the rest of the afternoon was pretty dry, though sunless. We had a great time. My Blip today was taken at the Chilean Viewpoint. A good afternoon out!
