Decisions
Today's photo was taken this morning at 8.20 on the woofer walk, in the area where I live. Already beautifully warm and sunny, Rufus and I are enjoying this adapted morning routine to get out a bit earlier.
Abo arrived not long after midday and we went to one of the ceramics retailers on the main road to Didim for me to choose the new floor tiles for the roof terrace. I didn't originally budget for this, but the new roof and freshly rendered and painted walls (blipped here) has highlighted the need and well, if a job's worth doing etc. Finding a particularly pretty tile design sealed the deal. From there we went to Abo's showroom in Didim to choose kitchen cupboards and counter top for the kitchenette that will mean I don't have to go down two flights of stairs to make a cup of tea or do the laundry (washing machine will be in this room too).
Back at the villa, while Abo worked out a revised total cost for the amended building plan, (I've also changed my design plan for the outside storage shed construction), I suddenly decided to have the ground floor patio where we were sitting next to the pool done in the same pretty tiles.
By 6pm Rufus was in need of some entertainment so we walked to the sea front where after much sniffing by the woofer, decided we needed to sit at Paşa for a beer. By now quite a warm breeze was blowing and it was a bit like sitting in a hairdryer, so by 19.30 we were both ready to walk home again for an evening of knitting and Netflix - and wondering if I made the right decision to go ahead with quite so much renovation to the villa all at the same time.
Work starts again on Monday morning.
