Belated 82nd
The daughters and children came to have lunch and to have a belated celebration for Mr C’s 82nd birthday. They brought nice meats, cheeses, bread, nibbles etc and I made the usual chocolate cake. The children were hilarious, making up songs and jokes. After lunch it was warm enough to be in the garden, so we adults had a catch up while the children played in the wood. They dragged down some old branches for Mr C to use as firewood then played some complicated type of hide and seek. Ella told me about the school activity trip in the lakes where she enjoyed everything, especially kayaking.
I’m quite tired now with the painkillers and all the activity and chatter but we had such a good time. Mr C loaned Ella a big rucksack for scout camp and we remembered to give Thomas some Euros for his school trip to France. Good news is that one school pulled out of the ski trip Nathaniel didn’t get a place on, so another 20 children from his school can go. He’ll love it.
We are watching a very interesting programme on Iplayer called Shifty about Britain for the last 45 years.
