Then and now
The main photo is of a Vauxhall that dates, I believe, from the 1920s. It was in the Panorama car park when we went to the circuit yesterday but I didn't see it today. If it was driven to Le Mans from England, even if the driver took the shorter route via the Newhaven-Dieppe ferry, it would have been quite an achievement for both man and machine to get it there. Let alone back again. As a Vauxhall driver myself I felt quite a sense of attachment to this classic automobile. After the 24 Hour race finished this afternoon we headed back to the gite and then to a cafe at the forest/lake resort where we had a decent meal and watched the Canadian Grand Prix, which was pretty uneventful until lap 67 of 70 when Lando Norris tried to squeeze past his team mate in the pit lane and bent his front nearside wheel ending his race. The extra was taken earlier in the race some time prior to this one bit of drama.
