Fledgling Siskin ( Spinus spinus )
A welcome sighting as we used to have regular visits by a number of Sisking. I think it is now at least a year since we saw one. At least a fledgling proves they are still in the area and breeding.
I find our lack of visits a bit puzzling as in the rest of the country the populations have been thriving. Birds ringed in Britain and Ireland have cropped up in large numbers from north Africa to finland and east to line from Estonia to the Black Sea.
