Hill Top Ramblings

Father’s Day

We had a Father’s Day brunch for the family, before they all had to go their separate ways.
And the group photos too! Do you think the men have family resemblance?
When they had all departed we took Bonnie up Hambleden Hill, a nearby chalk hill with the inevitable hill fort. There were plenty of flowers, and we spotted several Southern Cuckoo Bumblebees. These are recognisable by the lack of pollen baskets on their hind legs, which are hairy instead. They don’t need to collect pollen as the bumblebees they parasitise do all the work of rearing their young for them!
