Seaside wedding

Finally the day dawned…the wedding wasn’t until the evening but V’s brother Iggy invited us to lunch near the hotel where the wedding was to take place so we needed to get our stuff packed up so we could change at the hotel.  Lunch was a rather delicious Italian meal and I met a lot of Jayanti Indian relatives.

We changed in the hotel in the young nieces’ room and joined everyone for the photo session. The formal photos were taking place in a huge but not really glamorous ballroom so all our informal snaps have stacked up chairs and empty catering tables as a background.  I really missed the drama of the bride’’s arrival as she was already with us frocked up and doing the pics.

We then went to await her at the ceremony, pictured is V’s brother taking a shot of the gathering party.  No cameras during the service which was fine.  One of their friends officiated and it all went off smoothly although we were in the row behind the bridesmaids, dressed in pale yellow who sobbed throughout.

A cocktail hour in another dark interior room. I’ve noticed this in California and now Florida, sophistication means you hide from the sun but in a huge hotel (Breakers) on the beach it was a bit odd.  The main meal was in a much more beautiful room with huge windows through which we could see the sun going down.  It was a whirlwind of father/daughter dances, choreographed couple dances, speeches toasts and cake.  I danced, even Vik did.
We peeled off pretty early and were back at our air b’n’b by 11pm.
