Flowers on the Beach
Another hot day again. So, a breezy walk along the shoreline seemed the perfect antidote. A and I walked the circular route from the Norfolk Wildlife Trust Visitor's Centre at Cley to the beach and back. As it was hot and it's quite hard work trudging along the shingle beach I decided to leave my big camera (with a zoom lens) at home and take my little Olympus. Yes, you've guessed it...there was a sedge warbler perched right on top of a reed singing away, not that far from the path, but too far for my little camera. They seem to prefer to stay hidden amongst the reeds normally, but not today of course. Instead, I've posted a rather less exciting photo of the pretty yellow horned poppy which seems to be growing profusely along the beach this year.
We sat on the shingle with our flasks of coffee and watched the terns and gulls flying past in front of us whilst listening to the waves breaking...heaven!
