Over Yonder

Thank Crunchie It's Monday

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

I had to go into the office today. Annoying.

I'd arranged a big meeting with a company that does warrant of fitness car inspections you see. And now I have to care about this sort of thing.

So this was me, caring.

FFS.

However, it was hard to be grumpy because I met Fazzy on the train! I told her I was sorry for being a bit quiet lately and blamed the whole thing on Abi. Fazzy rolled her eyes and shook her head. I'm not sure why she does that whenever I talk to her. Perhaps she's ill.

However, she and I agreed to meet up for coffee with Olly over lunchtime. It was so nice to see them both again! I have missed them a lot. I bought them a Crunchie each to let them know I love them despite the recent spate of ignoring them.

Abi's fault. Moving on.

So I had a great time and in fact even the meeting was sort of fun. These inspector guys were NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS who could have a bit of a laugh and a chat.

Sadly, I had to walk back to my workplace with my colleagues. The Pod People. It was painful.

I'm NOT complaining. It could be worse.

And in fact, according to Fazzy and Olly it IS worse for them right now. There seems to be some sort of "no-fun-no-chat-no-enjoying-yourself" policy in place at my old work.

It is sad. Abi speculated that it's just as well I'm not there to see it.

I saw her when I got home from work. I pointed a large baguette at her. "Do you know what THIS means??" I asked her.

She wondered aloud if I was about to bop her around the head with it.

For goodness' sake! Does she think me some sort of MONSTER? Also, what the heck sort of baguette-PTSD is she recovering from?

I explained it meant we would be making SOUP together tomorrow. And no bopping. For that evening though, it was leftover curry for her and chili for me and Caro. It was really nice! I'd intended to watch telly with her but Abi and Caro just got talking and talking.

It's nice to listen to. Caro was clearly having great fun, and Abi loved hearing all her stories.

I'm loving this new family dynamic we've got happening. It happened so naturally, so easily.

But I promise not to forget Fazzy and Olly and - uh - the other one again. What was her name....?

S.
