Not Jiminy Cricket

In fact this is a grasshopper.
I was out in the open field with a friend, where we walk Laney every morning, to pull up noxious weeds that are taking over. It is a cool day and the soil is moist, but still we worked up a sweat and an aggravating cough while deep in the weeds. Laney was lounging at home.
Ever vigilant for a blip, I noticed this bright green grasshopper on one of the weed leaves. I think it was waving to me!
