Burned but surviving

Today we took a walk on the High Coast. This point we reached certainly lived up to the name, being high above the water. We parked at the High Coast Hotel, next to the High Coast Bridge and then followed a marked path out to near this viewpoint. Strangely the marked path turns away about 100 m before reaching this lovely place. You have to be curious, or in the know, to find your way here!
If you look at the base of the tree here you can see there has been a fire on the ground. It spread a little, scorching around 10 pine and fir trees, before burning itself out. A lucky escape for the forest behind me.
After the walk and a minor picnic it was back to the garden to finish off the biggest berry  cage. Rain got in the way a couple of times but the work went geneerally well.
