June Outing

I slept in today. We were free all morning so I took advantage of it being my birthday. I spent a few hours on the front porch eating breakfast and catching up on my prayers. I weeded a bit and chatted with family and friends. Hubby caught up with financial record keeping. My sister and I decided to take Momma out for lunch and ice cream. June is such a busy month for us: birthdays, graduations, trips and doctor appointments. Today was our last available day to have our monthly joint visit with Momma. The restaurant choices where Momma lives now are limited. We went back to the Italian restaurant and she chose a sausage and spinach pizza. She seemed to enjoy it; ate several small slices. I had a salad topped with baked turkey. My sister and BIL treated us to lunch. We had planned to take Momma out to an ice cream shop in May but we found some at the festival we visited. So, we went today. She loves anything with dark chocolate and mint. They had that flavor. She was so pleased. Hubby covered the bill. I got off Scott free! We notice our mother’s memory is getting worse but that is to be expected. She was so confused about where we were and where she was going after our outing. All my children and most of the grands sent me birthday wishes. Brooklyn is making me a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Oh my! We will go to her house later this evening to indulge. I may add a photo as an extra. Otherwise, we are going to just rest and relax. We smartly put everything from the trip away when we got home yesterday. Wishing you some time “off”. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “In family relationships, ‘love’ is really spelled ‘t-i-m-e,’ time. Taking time for each other is the key for harmony at home.” – Dieter F. Uchtdorf
