As We Were Leaving Akaroa

We had a early wakeup call this morning. I was awake but was staying in bed until the sun rose over the hills and entered the kitchen windows as it was so cold which happens around 8:48am at this time year. I heard someone calling out and thought it was my brother... no it was the guy coming to put the heat pump in at 8am. So I had to greet him in my nightie. He got a shock when he opened the door as he thought nobody was there until he saw the shoes at the door. My brother's car was in the garage.

My son was hoping the heat pump may have been put in on Monday. The guy said he would come back again but I said that was fine for him to do it now as we were leaving after breakfast.

With being from the North Island my brother and sister-in-law sure were feeling the cold. The small heater didn't heat the large room last night. The bedroom they slept in warmed up with it, which kept them warm overnight. I was really cold as I only have one heater. But slept okay.

I was going to take a photo from the deck area this morning but with the men putting in the heat pump I couldn't get out there. I just remembered I hadn't taken a photo as we were leaving Akaroa. So took this photo from the car window.

After a cloudy day in Akaroa yesterday this morning was lovely and sunny with only one little cloud in sight. We arrived back in Christchurch at lunchtime. My brother and my sister in-law were visiting friends this afternoon. They are busy tomorrow with catching up with more friends, before leaving on Friday morning making their way up to the top of the South Island to catch the ferry up to Wellington. It was lovely seeing them again even if a very short visit.
