Morning glow!
Catching the light at breakfast time my “Simply the Best” rose. We are sitting outside at the patio table under the umbrella.
It’s going to be to be another warm day today.
I watered the garden at 8:30pm last night, after our friend K had set off for home after her usual Tuesday evening dinner with us after her day at work.
I will water it now each evening before we go to Cornwall on Friday.
Another of our friends is going to pop in and do some watering if needed, when we are away.
I’m having a slow day today after yesterday’s walk and activity. (Which I really enjoyed!)
It’s my usual coffee with the Pilates class ladies this afternoon.
I am now on the waiting list to rejoin.
I am holding out for a morning class. At present they are all full.
But I didn’t want to start till September..
I did get my mat out yesterday and did one or two exercises, after the ones which I do which are recommended after a hip replacement.
I am at this moment just sitting here enjoying the beautiful shrub roses which are full of blooms. I stripped off all the leaves on the standard roses last autumn which were full of black spot and rust. Then disposed of them. Pruned them by a third before I went into hospital in November. And this Spring hard pruned them again before going back in for my second hip op in March! Then sprayed them with Rose Clear at the first sign of pests. I also fed them, as I do to promote healthy growth.
My dad grew roses and taught me how to prune, as well as how to maintain their health. He had some beauties in his flower beds.
This year the leaves are beautifully clear and the roses doing really well.
The peonies are being wonderful!
Well time to stir myself.
It’s easy to shut out the horrors going on in different parts of the world, sitting out here in the peace and tranquillity.
