Catching the light. Early morning.

My beautiful white shrub roses in the morning sunshine.
I’m just having a mug of coffee sitting outside once more at breakfast time.
I woke early around 6:00am. My sleep pattern isn’t great but I am learning to go with the flow of intermittent waking through the night.
We had some friends here last evening from our Birmingham Vineyard church for our small group get together.
It was lovely sitting eating outside. Stephen makes pizzas. We had a new addition in Raj from Pakistan. He arrived with a take out of samosas and dips, plus some yummy cakes! As he said “In my culture it’s all about the food.” So when visiting they take something. Which we all thoroughly enjoyed.
He’s trying to get a job in NHS research. At the moment he is working as a manager in the Care system having begun as a carer himself. It’s always interesting to hear their back stories of why they are here. He phones his mum and dad each evening after work and says they are always ready and waiting for the call. He has two brothers still in India.
I’ll include a photo of us. One person was missing, as there will now be 6 of us meeting fortnightly on a Wednesday evening for food and discussion, and prayers.
When I came downstairs soon after 6:00am I put the last of the washing in the machine, ready to be hung out after breakfast. The forecast here today is for 29C and wall to wall sunshine.
Stephen got up a little while ago.
Today we will be packing, which I find such a chore.
But we have been to this particular holiday cottage (well dormer bungalow) several times, so know exactly the layout and its equipment.
Before I begin my procrastinated task, I have some roses to dead head first.
This heatwave is set for several days here.
The weather where we are going in Cornwall will not be as hot and there are showers now predicted on some days.
I am so looking forward to being there!
