The second half of life..

Can't resist a hoary-frosted tree

Took Gerty van to see L around 9.15 and after much testing and exploration.......nothing!  In a way, that's good as things are clearly working as they should be.  In another it's a tad concerning as I still have no explanation as to why I suddenly lost all power a few days ago.  Very pleased to say that things have been behaving normally so all is good.  Fingers crossed things stay that way.

Headed south then inland and it wasn't too long before the scenery - which is always stunning - presented a new beauty to me - snow-clad hills!  Very happy that the roads are all cleared and in reasonably good order, though I still found myself driving much slower and much more aware of grit on the surface.

Mett N & K in Tekapo where we just happened to go to the same place (the church - extra) at the same time.  Didn't spend long as they were heading out towards Timaru.  I headed off towards Twizel and loved every minute of the fairytale landscape - lots of stops, lots of sunshine but aware of the thick bank of fog that was hanging in the Twizel direction.  Sun - sun - sun - fog - fog - fog!  The changeover was indeed that quick.......temperatures a tad colder, air a little heavier........all looking good for more hoar frost.  Loved this tree............and loved a few views over Lake Pukaki too (extra......a very moody atmosphere!  Never seen it look like this before)

Now at my Twizel 'home base' on the canal-side.  Temperatures are very cold and I'll need to drain my waterworks before I go to bed so I have some running water in the morning.  It's cold enough that I might even leave the heater on all night!
