Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

T'was a very hot day here, though not as hot as down south, thank goodness. But there's plenty of shade round the Links, and choosing which side of the road to walk on works well.

JR has been busy planning a lunch on Saturday for Abi and her mum - she likes a project. Abi is in the midst of packing up house and moving to Copenhagen. Very exciting for them, sad for us, and Archie - he loves them.

Later, we all walked round to one of JR's favourite shops, which had a sale and a glass of bubbly on today. I was even tempted to go, mainly to improve on my miserable step count yesterday. Archie is always keen to go shopping. Actually, we met an ex-neighbour from years ago, and amazingly enough, I remembered her name.

Archie and JR went for a longer walk back home, while I came back to watch the tennis and relax.

The Alcaraz/Munar game was a corker! More than three hours in over 30° heat! What amazing athletes, those tennis players! Alcaraz, the current No 1, was very relieved to just edge it.

This is shot of those little twiglets that were planted a couple of years ago and looked completely dead for a long time, but they seem to be growing now.
