Sunshine
I had a very long lie, till 9. Had my tea outside in the warmth, updating my calendar and then almost leaving too late to get to NMS on time. I made it, just.
After another meandering stroll through Georgian Scotland, this time the Enlightenment, I crossed to Alanda's, and had a 2 scoop cone to celebrate the 'hot' day, mango pannacotta and vegan dark chocolate. That proved difficult as they had in three sun caused almost immediate melting and a race to eat before I was covered in melted ice cream.
Walked most of the way to Mark's, via Tesco, and picked up the framed picture. At the bus stop I also picked up a posy of flowers with a label advertising a Fringe show. So much nicer than flyers.
Sat in the garden, failing to read my book but dozing before I cut the grass and then after 5 stirred myself to go up Stanedykehead to collect elderflowers. I managed to miss quite a few easy ones on the way to my goal and ended up washing through long grass and nettles (legs are still zinging) but I got the easy one on the way back.
The flowerheads are now steeping. That may have to be for 48, not 24, hours as I'm supposed to go to Glasgow tomorrow but there may be a last minute change to that plan.
Watched the Howe of the Mearns on 'Landward' and fiddled with the slides. The brilliant woman at East Lothian archives confirmed that Mum's school photos were taken at Dunbar Grammar School primary department and that she attended there from Oct '30 to Nov '35. She was quite chuffed about that.
