Crow release
Went to the allotment early, but not early enough to avoid the heat. Although I didn't do anything too energetic, sweat was pouring down my face! Did what I could - made sure the little blighters had some water.
Oh, when I'd arrived at site there was a great kerfuffle and cawing on a neighbour's plot. A crow (I suspect a young one) had got inside their brassica cage and couldn't get out - he was battering against the netting on the sides. Strangely the door was not fastened so he could have just pushed it open from the inside but obviously wasn't as bright as your average crow. I held the door open for him and he eventually flew out, accompanied by racous comments from two onlookers (possibly parents?). "Stupid boy!", I guess. The brassicas looked a bit battered.
Later on had to go out for a couple of messages and saw this strange craft on the water. Two oars, one for each occupant, seemingly paddled at random. Didn't wait to see if they were going to lie down to get under the bridge.....
