Above And Beyond...

Treago Castle

I was on the way to Hereford when I saw a sign for Open Garden at Treago Castle , St Weonards, Herefordshire (UK) between 2pm-5pm.

I managed to get there shortly after opening and saw it was for charity so no problem paying the entry fee to see a castle close up I've wanted to see since I did an aerial view of it here  It's surprising how the garden rambles on through shaded pathways to a walled former Japanese garden.  I'm sure I past an overgrown motte and bailey castle mound from 11th century on the way but will have to research that!

The main photo' shows the rear of the castle, and the extra the 'turret' and another a side view showing the flag flying in the breeze (30 C today) from a side view.  I enjoyed seeing the castle close up but didn't bump into Lady Mynors Herbert who lives at the castle.

It's really humid today so we have invited friends and neighbours around to watch the sunset as we have some cold drinks!
