Eryngium

This plant has grown in the scatty border next to the front door. I think it's fabulous. I don't where it came from or how it got there. It's yet to bloom, expect another photo when that happens.

Google Lens identified it originally as a Ranunculus!

I urged Len to go 'early' (for us) to the market. As a consequence, we were back home by the time we normally leave for the market. There was a long queue for the greengrocer and the bakers' stall was selling out quickly.

Other than that we've stayed in as it's been hot again, despite a veil of cloud.
