Abstract Thursday: Texture

When I read that the theme for Abstract Thursday this week was texture, I soon thought of the pineapple I had bought, and thought that would fit the bill. Other than that, it was a regular sort of day, nothing exciting. Roger started the day by finally getting most of the old basketball hoop and stand down at the side of the driveway. He had started a few weeks back, but all the joints and bolts were rusted, and he didn’t have a tall enough ladder to attack it better. Today, using the ladder he had borrowed from church, he was able to get a better angle, and with different means such as sawing through the bolts, at least managed to get the bracket holding the ring for the net down. Then he went to church, to cut the grass there. They used to pay a company to do it, but there was a bit of a falling out over cost, and since the church has a number of big expenses coming up soon, it was decided the Trustees would take it in turns to cut it. Meanwhile, I spent the day at home, doing laundry, cleaning the hardwood floors, and generally doing some tidying up.
