Ocean Mist

Spent the morning with our visitors; we walked round Queen Street gardens, finding a london plane tree and a northern red oak, among other things. The mock orange is in full flower.  Got the laundry done when they'd gone.

Walked by the Water of Leith in the afternoon, finding goosanders with quite well grown youngsters flying down the river; lots of eider ducks having a conversation and a spirited wash just up from the Sandport bridge, and a mother eider with two day or two old ducklings.

The Ocean Mist had a full complement of outside diners. Just upstream of the Victoria bridge the 9 cygnet swan family were feeding; they are losing their fluff and starting to grow feathers. Back by tram.

Visited a pop up shop selling vintage mid century home wares and furniture in Dublin Meuse in the evening; nice neighbours. Bought two wooden bowls, one walnut, one oak.

Coincidentally, thick sea mist is what we have this morning as I'm typing; yesterday was hot, 26C high in the evening with a very light wind. There was more breeze in the afternoon.
