Arrived Paradise

Punished for pleasure, I slept very badly in the exquisite room, sleep marred by the fact we had to get up early for the flight to Guadeloupe.  

That at least was fairly easy and beautiful as we flew over blue oceans and tiny islands all the way. 

Rory sent a car to meet us and it was an hour drive over to the side of the island where they are filming (he’s camera on Death in Paradise).  We took a while to get into the room but then were met and taken up to set by his friend Jessie.  It was nice to be on someone’s set without responsibility.  

Drove to see the new villa he and two friends are moving into, very lovely and apparently a saving for production.  He’s ecstatic.  We then had dinner in a restaurant called L’Amer (or at least definitely not La Mer) on a terrace that when we arrived was covered in bugs.  They didn’t seem to bite but were annoying.  The waiter turned all the lights out for fifteen minutes and we hunched over candles and then when he turned them on the insects had gone off to find brighter lights!  Life lesson.
