Large Skipper

..male, I'm thinking.

Just back from the butterfly reserve.  Phew, it was hot up there, even so high up.  We haven't had sun all through the day, just part of it. At one point it almost rained, but it never let up being sticky.  As soon as possible I shall jump into a nice cold bath..

But back to the skipper.  It's not the same kind I posted on 2nd June.  That was a small skipper, though I find it hard to tell them apart on size alone.  What does differentiate them is the amount and pattern of brown on their wings.  And this one I just loved seeing hanging from the stalk of grass.

In just a mo I have to help K take her impatient little dogs for a walk.  It will be as short a walk as is kind and hopefully staying in as much shade as possible.  When I get back I shall settle down to the lovely occupation of seeing what you've all posted for today.
