World Refugee Day

R and I joined the Refugees Welcome march in Glasgow as part of World Refugee Day. We wouldn’t be here if the UK hadn’t accepted nearly 10,000 children from Europe between 1938 and 1939, via Kindertransport. I wish that the UK government could stop pandering to the far right and have a more humanitarian approach to the many people desperately seeking refuge from war, persecution and the effects of the climate emergency, that they are doing the opposite of countering.
