The boys in the mist (Day 3698)
It has been a busy day. After the morning wander with Sigyn, I got the grass cut before heading to town to get a couple of things I need for the horse field.
Back home I hacked back a massive hebe which has been making it more difficult to get the bin past as it was taking up more and more space. It was also stealing a lot of light from the kitchen. It grows on our side of the boundary between us and the neighbouring house and had spread into their garden. I have removed the bits that were trespassing, and expect a grumpy communication from the grumpy neighbour, but it is my bush and I'll trim it the way I want. Next on the list was trimming the hedge at the front of the house. It has got to the stage it was making it difficult to see along the road when pulling out of the driveway, so needed to be dealt with.
After clearing up, I took Sigyn to Lyde for a wander in the thick haar. She felt she wasn't wet enough so had a wallow in the burn.
After a very late lunch I headed to the horses, which didn't go entirely to plan as Robin and Red had an unplanned excursion into the mare's field. It took a while to shepherd Red back to where he should have been, but I managed eventually. After I had put out the hay and done the poo picking, I walked into the field to get a hand on all of the horses. Red made a beeline for me, and I think, apologised for being an un-catchable arse earlier.
My report to my beautiful wife of the afternoon antics has caused much hilarity.
