River of Flowers

Saturday: Summer Solstice …

… Longest day … and in Welsh “hirddydd haf”

Temperature around 20°C all day, feeling hot and muggy - we had a few heavy showers lunchtime and afternoon, with forecast of more to come overnight and tomorrow … the ground could certainly do with moisture and it’s been a lot cooler here than in England.

Woke up too early this morning and had a lazy day of reading and short walks around the garden. Finally got round to cleaning the posh bird bath - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2476879912485519414 - now has clean water for our feathered friends :-)

Had a nice phone chat with The Sailor who’s very busy and doing a lot of travelling.

Continued watching this series - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p031dh88 - which is fascinating, so much Welsh history that wasn’t taught to Welsh children when we were at school back in the 1950s and ‘60s.

Today’s Blip is of Good King Henry - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blitum_bonus-henricus - and some of the colourful pots of flowers :-))

ADDED LATER: I think the orchid count has gone up to TEN - it’s a bit windy and murky outside, I’ll do a double check tomorrow, weather permitting!
