All In The Family

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

There were ambitious plans for today. Abi asked me to wake her up at 5am singing the "Woooooah it's Friday" song*. 

This was so she could check out the Matariki morning stars. 

I got a text cancelling this plan before I could do it. Stars are fine but bed is better. 

Abi decided to spend today getting up at a sensible hour and doing crafts instead. She wanted to make friendship bracelets or something. There was a whole craft bag of thread and buttons and she settled down to work. 

When Caro got up, we decided that murder-mysteries were the way to go on a lazy day of nothing. So Columbo went on, followed by Miss Marple. 

And it was the BEST day. We sat. We had hot drinks. There were cats. The cats played with Abi's thread. And then we** had fish and chips for dinner. 

The Matariki stars will always be there. We only have Abi for six weeks. Priorities. You know?

* This is a song my dad would sing in his cracked-parrot voice to wake me up for school on a Friday. The lyrics are simple, "WOOOOAH IT'S FRIDAY! YAY IT'S FRIDAY!!!" I told Abi about this and she said he did it to her AS WELL. So I was going to restore the old tradition. It could still happen.

** Not Abi obviously because vegan. She ate millet or dust or something.
